About

What is Super Happy Funtime? Super Happy Funtime is the Midwest's only sexy musical comedy theatre. Imagine Rocky Horror Picture Show meets Saturday Night Live with a live band. We have been thrilling audiences and selling out theaters and clubs for five years.

What happens at the show? Each show is a unique mix of exciting and daring performances, hosted by an emcee you can't take your eyes off. Sexy and cute dancers perform thematic stripteases. There is naughty comedy and scathing satire. The shows also include magicians, circus performers, and smoking music by The End Times Orchestra.

Do you do private gigs? Yes, we are all professional performers. We can provide burlesque, circus, variety, comedy, and live music acts for Mardi Gras parties, Halloween shows, birthday parties, and corporate events. From naughty and daring to family friendly.

What is burlesque? Burlesque is a traditional style of American entertainment that mixes variety acts -- juggling, magic, singing, comedy -- with sexy dancing and striptease. It has been around for over 100 years. The emphasis is on satire and over-the-top theatrics. Burlesque is currently enjoying a national revival.

Are the dancers strippers? No. Striptease is not stripping. It is a sensual dance to music where the beautiful dancer teases the audience. She never gets totally nude. The emphasis is on the beautiful dancer in her glamorous costume dancing to a big band.

Is there music? Music is provided by the End of Times Orchestra. This Website has many examples of their music. This is a professional band that tours in its own right. They have over 500 songs in their playbook, from Zydeco to Polka to to free-form jazz to heavy rock to 80s music (which they hate).

How long have you been performing? We have been performing together for 6 years and as Super Happy Funtime for 5 years. Our performers have been featured on national TV shows like the Gong Show and America's got Talent and performed in New York City, Boston, and Minneapolis.

Is your show known nationally? Yes. Nationally touring performers travel to perform with Super happy Funtime. Recent guest performers include Cirque du Soliel's World Famous Brett, the Ringling Bros.' head clown Just Larry, and film director Richard Elfman (brother of composer Danny).

Who attends the shows? We draw people who appreciate authentic and original entertainment. As we don't cater to a single "scene," our audience is diverse and broad. They like to try new things and push boundaries. We get people from 20 to 70 years old!

Do people come back to see shows? YYes, the shows always have a special theme, which is woven throughout the show. Every time we perform it is an original and brand new show. We do annual Halloween and Holiday shows. Special themes have included "Kid Shows," "Science Fiction," and "The Bible." By keeping the show fresh, people come back for more.

Where did you start? We began performing on a stage at a coffee shop in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Our artistic home is the Wealthy Theatre in Grad Rapids. We have also performed in Kalamazoo, Three Rivers, Three Oaks, Minneapolis, Boston, St Joseph, Lawton, Traverse City, Chicago, Holland, Warren, and New York City.

How long do the shows take? Depends on the event. If we're in a theater we play for 2 hours. In a bar or club we can do up to 5. You get your money's worth.
